Acupuncture

An Integrative Perspective

I offer acupuncture and Chinese medicine as thoughtful, individualized care—designed to support emotional balance, relieve pain, and rebuild capacity over time.

My clinical work is informed by ongoing study in health, psychology, physiology, nutrition, trauma, and behavior change. I’m interested in how stress, emotions, habits, and environment shape the body—and how small, thoughtful interventions can create meaningful shifts.

This work is collaborative, responsive, and grounded in respect for the whole person.

What I Help With

People rarely come in with just one isolated symptom. Stress, pain, hormones, sleep, mood, and energy are deeply interconnected. Rather than treating diagnoses in isolation, I work with patterns—how stress is showing up in your body, where tension is being held, and how your system is adapting over time.

Stress & Nervous System Support

Stress is both mental and physiological. When the nervous system remains in a prolonged state of activation, it can affect sleep, digestion, mood, hormones, and pain.

Stress may show up as:

— anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional reactivity
— feeling wired but exhausted
— difficulty sleeping or relaxing
— jaw clenching, headaches, neck and shoulder tension
— digestive upset (reflux, gas, bloating, constipation, IBS)
— hormonal irregularity

Many of the women I work with:

— are highly sensitive or deeply empathetic
— are used to holding everything together
— carry emotional stress in the body
— feel disconnected, shut down, or stretched thin

When your system is depleted, it often reaches for stimulation—caffeine, sugar, scrolling, busyness—anything that mimics aliveness. Treatment helps calm the nervous system, support emotional steadiness, improve sleep, and increase your capacity to meet daily life with more ease.

Women’s Health & Hormonal Transitions

I support women navigating hormonal transitions and reproductive health, including:

— painful or irregular periods
— PMS or mood changes around the cycle
— fertility and reproductive support
— pregnancy (all trimesters)
— postpartum recovery and depletion
— perimenopause and menopause

Care emphasizes regulation, nourishment, and supporting the body’s natural rhythms.

Pain & Musculoskeletal Care

Pain is rarely just structural. It is influenced by tension, stress physiology, and nervous system sensitivity.

Common concerns include:

— headaches and migraines
— jaw pain / TMJD
— neck and shoulder tension
— low back pain and sciatica
— hip pain
— pelvic floor tension
— chronic pain patterns

Treatment addresses both local tissue restriction and the underlying patterns that keep pain cycling.

Treatment Frequency

Acupuncture works best as a series, with each session building on the last.

While some relief may be felt after each visit, more sustained change develops with consistency. Many patients begin to notice meaningful improvement within 6–10 sessions, depending on the condition and individual response.

If you’re not experiencing the progress you hoped for, I’ll be honest with you and help guide next steps or referrals.

Insurance

Acupuncture is offered as a cash-pay service. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your coverage.
